Information
Youth Intermediate Flying Junior Class (FJ)
Ages 13 and over 9:00AM to 3:00PM
Camps for these youngsters start at 9:00AM and run until 3:00PM daily at the same time Monday thru Friday of the Camp week. Teen Intermediate is a good fit for sailors who are comfortably at a beginner level and are excited to build their sailing and teamwork skills in a challenging double-handed boat (the Flying Junior).
The goal by the end of camp is to have all sailors comfortable sailing upwind and downwind in medium breeze, and ready to check-out an FJ in Open Boating.
Once graduating from this class, teens are encouraged to consider our spring and fall “Kraken” sailing program, where skills honed, preparing these sailors to participate in competitive sailing regattas all around western Washington. These programs prepare teens to compete in college based sailing programs, where standout sailors may be eligible for scholarships.
Prerequisite: Completion of Teen Beginner (or equivalent).
